Non-members will be made very welcome at all events.

We advise sturdy footwear and suitable clothing for outdoor events. There will be a £2 admission charge for indoor events unless stated otherwise.

Thursday 23 MarchIllustrated talk (change of venue/speaker) – Tracey Dixon will be speaking about her photography

Joint meeting with Kinross Camera club. Meet at Thistle hotel in Milnathort. 7:30pm 

Tracey Dixon is a zoology graduate of the University of Dundee and now works as Visualization & GIS Office for the School of Social Sciences.

Since she first picked up a camera for a 2002 trip to the Arctic, her photos have featured in a range of projects, from Al Gore’s "An Inconvenient Truth" & Eric Chivian and Aaron Bernstein's  "Sustaining Life How Human Health Depends on Biodiversity" to the definitive guide to squirrels of the world!

She enjoys extended off track bush walking expeditions and has also had photos reach the semi-final of the NHM Wildlife Photographer of the Year.


Friday 21 April 7:30pm    Kinghorn: Talk and bat walk. Richard Smith will give a talk on the fascinating noctural life of bats and how to identify them using bat detectors. The talk to be followed by a walk at dusk to see or hear with the bat detectors what bats are about.

Saturday 13 May 2pm Outing: Bankhead Moss  

A visit to one of the few raised peat bogs in Fife. Dragonflies and damselflies. Peatland plants including sunddews and sphagnum mos. Stout footwear/wellingtons advisable.

Limited parking at the reserve NO 447 103, otherwise park on the roadside at Peat Inn.

Wednesday 21 June 7pmOuting: Pond dipping at Clatto Reservoir – Children welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Bring nets

Meet at the car park at Clatto Reservoir at NO 365 078, about three quarters of a mile up the access road.


Saturday 1 July 1:30pm Outing: Plants and butterflies : A short walk and clumb along the coastal path to the spectacular setting of Kincraig Head

Meet at the car park at the entrance to Shell Bay NO 469 005


Saturday 12 August 2pm: Outing: Dragonflies and peatland plants.

Portmoak Moss is a raised bog near Loch Leven and was covered in a conifer plantation until 2005.

Meet at the parking area on the access track off the B920 just south of Scotlandwell at NO183 015
